Our Free Trial plan allows for you to have 25 lifetime connected businesses in a production environment. This means each time you connect a business to our service, that is counted as a lifetime business even if you disconnect it later or delete that business. Please note that this plan is intended for testing purposes and will differ from the Pay As You Go and Enterprise plans.

To see the number of Lifetime Businesses utilized is displayed on the Railz Dashboard Home page:

Dashboard Home page

Similarly, Pay As You Go and Enterprise customers will see 'Current Billing Usage' on the dashboard in place of 'Lifetime Businesses, and it shows the number of businesses connected in the current billing cycle.

Here are a few scenarios to help understand the connection process and how 'Lifetime Business' for a free plan is counted:

  • A business can have multiple active connections and is counted as only 1 lifetime connected business:

    • 1 business with 3 connections (accounting, banking, commerce) -> counts as 1 out of 25-lifetime connections. Eg: Business A is connected to Quickbooks (Accounting), Scotiabank (Banking) and Shopify (Commerce), and it is counted as 1 lifetime connected business.

    • Similarly, 1 business with 2 connections - Accounting and Banking or Accounting and Commerce, is also counted as 1 lifetime connected business.

  • Connecting and disconnecting the same business still counts as a lifetime connection:

    • If you connect business A to QBO, then disconnect and reconnect the same business back to QBO -> this counts as 2-lifetime businesses.

    • If you connect business A to QBO, then disconnect and connect to a different accounting service provider (Xero, for example), it is counted as 2-lifetime businesses.

    • If you delete a business and the business is no longer available, it is still counted as 1 lifetime connected business.

In short, if you keep disconnecting and reconnecting any of the existing businesses, this is still counting towards the 25 lifetime available connections. This also applies when you delete a business.
